Edinburgh Marathon - Sunday 25 May 2008

Are you considering running in the Edinburgh marathon ? Simpsons Special Care Babies is always proud to have people volunteering to run and raise sponsorship for us, so if you are, we would be delighted if you chose us as your charity to run for.

Previous Edinburgh Marathons were marvelously successful and great to both participate in and to spectate at as there are plenty of great places to watch and enjoy the runners, whether they be charity runners or athletes intent on winning.

The scenic course begins in Edinburgh and heads eastward along the coast into East Lothian. The route is similar to last year but with a few alterations, as due to roadworks for the trams, this year it starts in Regent Road. The route heads on eastwards along the coast through Portobello and Musselburgh, before heading on through the beautiful villages of Cockenzie, Port Seton & Longniddry. It runs around the stately grounds of Gosford House and returns along the coast, before finishing in Musselburgh Racecourse. A map of the course can be found on the Edinburgh Marathon Website.

If you are interested in running for us but have not yet signed up, we may be able to offer charity places. Please contact our Secretary Gill at info@sscb.org.

COME ALONG AND CHEER OUR RUNNERS ON - THEY GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.
Your voice will make a difference to our runners wherever you are on the course. Our runners were delighted to have been cheered on at various points by SSCB supporters and were helped on their way to achieve the finish. It could be your opportunity to raise your voice, to dress in fancy dress to cheer them on, and to enjoy yourself.
