Our Committee
Our committee is made up of volunteers, who have all had or have personal experience of the work done in the Neo Natal unit. This may be through having had a child go through the Unit, or through working in it.
Chairperson - Jennifer Houliston
Jennifer joined the committee after the birth of their first child, Lewis. Jennifer had developed HELLP Syndrome at 32+ weeks in her pregnancy, resulting in Lewis being born over 7 weeks early by emergency Ceasarian Section. He required Intensive Care treatment for several days, and remained in the unit until he was 3+ weeks old. Both Jennifer and husband Derek were overwhelmed by the care given to Lewis, and want to somehow repay some of the care they all received. Their second child, Kerr, born 4 weeks early, also needed to stay in the unit for a week.
Vice Chair - Cally Fraser
Cally is another parent who has had children go through the unit. A fuller biography will appear later.
Treasurer - Jackie Rigby
Jackie has recently taken over as our treasurer.
Secretary - Gill Mitchell
Gill works in the unit, and is a Paediatric Secretary. "When I joined the Neonatal Unit in June 1997, I was asked whether I would assist the charity and take the minutes of the meetings - it all started there. Since joining the charity, I have met many wonderful people, people I would otherwise not have met. I know the things I do to help the charity in time help the babies. I am glad I said yes when I had the opportunity."
