Free beanie hat knitting pattern
SSCB stocking stitch hat with hearts.
Our two Beanie Hats have 2 variations - one has a single heart for love and a roll brim and the other has three hearts, one for the baby, one for the family and one for the Neonatal Unit and a rib band.

The beanie hats are in simple stocking stitch, with the hearts knitted in reverse stocking stitch. Both hats are knitted in double knitting yarn and 4mm needles.
We are happy to receive these hats in all colours and via our PO Box.
Requirements
• Please use new yarn.
• While we appreciate that knitters have different abilities and as these are gifts for babies and families who have gone through so much, we would appreciate a high quality of knitting and sewing up.
• All sewing MUST be fastened securely.

To make you will need:
Materials
• 50g DK yarn, we are happy to receive these hats in all colours
• 4mm knitting needles

What to do:

Cast on 79 sts and work 13 rows in stocking stitch beginning with a purl row and ending with a purl row. This allows the cast on edge to curl up.

ROW 15 - P38, K3, P38
ROW 16 - K37, P5, K37
ROW 17 - P36, K7, P36
ROW 18 - K35, P9, K35
ROW 19 - P34, K11, P34
ROW 20 - K34, P11, K34
ROW 21 - P34, K11, P34
ROW 22 - K34, P11, K34
ROW 23 - P34, K5, P1, K5, P34
ROW 24 - K35, P3, K3, P3, K35
ROW 25 - P36, K1, P5, K1, P36. (Last heart row)
Work 8 rows in stocking stitch before beginning crown shaping.

Alternate rows purl
*K3, K2 tog repeat from *to end of row (52 sts)

*K1, K2tog “ (26 sts)

Draw up these 13 sts, sew back seam and fasten off securely.
Beanie Hat with three hearts

Work work 6 rows in stocking stitch, beginning with a knit row.
Hearts pattern is worked over the next 12 rows.
