Thank you!
Back on the 26th April 2020 we partnered with the 2.6 Challenge.
Your amazing support helped raise £2,833.36 for Simpsons Special Care Babies, the Official Charity supporting the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital. Your fundraising for the SSCB charity continues our support in purchasing the latest life saving equipment for babies born prematurely or sick.
Learn more about how your valuable donations help, or, perhaps you’d wish to take on another challenge with our other fundraising campaigns?
What was the 2.6 Challenge?
All you need to do is dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills and complete it on Sunday 26 April – when the 40th London Marathon would have taken place. This could be something as simple as pledging to run or ride 2.6 miles as your daily exercise, holding the plank for 2.6 minutes, to gardening for 26 minutes. There are no rules – apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time. The UK charity sector estimates it will lose £4 billion in income as a result of the pandemic (source: National Council of Voluntary Organisations CEO Karl Wilding). With hundreds of events postponed due to the pandemic, thousands of charities have had to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable members of society need them most. The 2.6 Challenge is a simple way for people of all ages and abilities to help save the UK’s charities from Sunday 26 April. Your challenge could be as simple as pledging to run 2.6 miles as your daily exercise to doing 26 minutes of juggling non-stop.
