This year’s Edinburgh Marathon Festival was filled with incredible stories, inspiring supporters and powerful reminders of why fundraising for Simpson’s Special Care Babies means so much to so many families.
An Edinburgh Marathon Relay Celebrating Caleb
Among those taking part were Natasha and her family, who completed a marathon relay in celebration of their son Caleb.
Sharing her story on her fundraising page, Natasha wrote:
“Two years ago, moments like this seemed impossible. With Caleb — our third son, who was born at 26 weeks — fighting for his life in the NICU.Today, we celebrate him and the incredible teams that cared for him and so many other babies. We get to have him here with us today because of their hard work. What better way to celebrate than run a marathon relay and raise money for an amazing cause!”
Honouring Caleb’s Neonatal Journey
What a beautiful way to honour Caleb’s journey and celebrate the extraordinary neonatal teams who cared for him.
We are incredibly grateful to Natasha and everyone who ran, supported and donated alongside her.
Fiona Raises Over £2,000 for Edinburgh Marathon SSCB
We would also like to say a huge congratulations and thank you to Fiona McCallum, who completed the Edinburgh Half Marathon and raised more than £2,000 for SSCB.
Fiona shared that taking on the challenge was deeply personal and inspired by the care and support SSCB provides to families experiencing neonatal care.
Every donation raised through her run will help SSCB continue supporting babies and parents during some of the most difficult and emotional moments of their lives.
Training to Support Neonatal Families
Training for a half marathon is no small feat, and Fiona’s dedication, generosity and determination have been truly inspiring.
From early morning training runs to race-day nerves and celebrations at the finish line, her efforts will make a real difference to families at the Simpson Neonatal Unit in Edinburgh.
Thank You to Every SSCB Supporter
To everyone who laced up their running shoes, cheered from the sidelines, donated, volunteered or shared fundraising pages over the weekend — thank you.
Your support helps SSCB continue providing comfort, care and practical support to babies, parents and families when they need it most.
