Families from Primary 3 at Erskine Stewart Melville Junior School gathered on 15 May for a heartwarming Teddy Bears Picnic in support of Simpson’s Special Care Babies.
A Teddy Bears Picnic Fun-Filled Afternoon for Families
The afternoon was filled with sunshine — at least some of it — games, laughter, picnic treats and, of course, plenty of much-loved teddy bears.
Most importantly, the event brought families together to raise money for an incredible volunteer-run charity that supports babies, parents and families experiencing neonatal care.

A Family’s Personal Connection to SSCB
During the picnic, SSCB trustee Olivia Halvorsen-Gordon shared her family’s personal connection to the charity alongside her P2 son.
More than seven years ago, he was born over six weeks early and spent time in neonatal care. Together, they spoke about the support their family received during that difficult time and what SSCB continues to mean to them today.
The Lasting Impact of Neonatal Support
It was a touching reminder of the lasting impact neonatal support can have — not only during those early days, but for families for many years afterwards.
Thank You for Supporting Neonatal Families
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated, organised games, brought teddies and helped make the afternoon so special.
Your support helps SSCB continue providing comfort, care and practical support to babies, parents and families when they need it most.
