Mackenzie was born at 30 +5 weeks due to a placental abruption. He has 3 brothers and 3 sisters who totally adore him. At 6 days old he got an infection called NEC.

At 9 days old he had to go for a major operation, at this point we honestly didn't know if he would survive or not. He had 80cm of his large bowel removed along with a percentage of his small bowel. He has been left with a stoma which is reversible in the future. Having spent a total of 62 days in the neonatal unit which was hard for us all, however, he got stronger with the help of the doctors and nurses in the unit which we are eternally grateful for.

In March 2016 we held a charity night for SSCB and raised nearly £6000.

Mackenzie had his reversal in September 2016 and spent 9 weeks in the sick kids due to infections.

He is now a healthy cheeky little boy who just started nursery.

We will always be grateful for everything that was done for Mackenzie xxx
